Start Blogging with Confidence

New to blogging? This step-by-step guide will walk you through each part of the blog post form on TipidShoppingHints — from writing an eye-catching title to formatting your content and choosing the right tags and category.

✍️ So you’ve been approved as an Editor — congratulations! Now it's time to write your first blog post and share your tipid tips with the community. Whether it’s a product you love, a shopping strategy that works, or a personal experience that can help others, this guide will walk you through each part of the blog post form — and how to make the most out of it.
Let’s go section by section:

Title

What it’s for: This is the headline of your blog post. It’s what users will see first.
Tips:
  • Keep it short and clear.
  • Spark curiosity or highlight the benefit.
  • Use numbers or keywords when possible.
Examples:
  • "7 Must-Have Kitchen Tools Under ₱500"
  • "How I Saved ₱3,000 Using Cashback Apps"

Post Type

What it’s for: Post types help organize your content and signal to readers what kind of blog they’re about to read. Choosing the right type improves discoverability and sets the right expectations.
📝 Available Types:
  • 🧡 Story – Share a personal experience or tipid journey.
    • “How I planned our ₱5k family vacation to Baguio”
  • 🔍 Review – Offer your honest opinion about a product or service.
    • “Shopee vs Lazada delivery: Which is faster in the province?”
  • 🔥 Deal – Found a sulit deal? Share it with everyone!
    • “₱99 kitchen tools that feel like ₱500 — legit Shopee find!”
  • ⚖️ Compare – Compare two or more options to help readers choose.
    • “Air Fryer vs Oven Toaster: Which one saves more energy?”
  • 📘 Guide – A step-by-step tutorial, checklist, or how-to.
    • “How to set monthly grocery limits using free budgeting apps”
  • 📦 Unbox – Showcase a new purchase with photos and first impressions.
    • “Unboxing my ₱1,000 surprise box from TikTok Shop”
Tips:
  • Choose only one post type that best matches your content.
  • Be consistent across similar posts for better organization.

Short Description

What it’s for: This appears as a preview or snippet on the homepage or category pages.
Tips:
  • Keep it around 1–2 short sentences.
  • Think of it like a teaser to pull readers in.
  • Focus on value: what will the reader gain?
Example:
“Here’s how I scored ₱1,000 worth of groceries for half the price — without using a credit card!”

Post Content (Main Body)

We use the Trix Editor, which supports rich formatting like:
  • Headings (H1, H2)
  • Bold, italic, underline
  • Bullet and numbered lists
  • Links
  • Blockquotes
Tips:
  • Break long text into sections using headings.
  • Use bullet points for product lists or steps.
  • Add bold or italic for emphasis.
  • Tell a story, then give actionable tips.
Example structure:
  1. Intro – Share your personal experience or hook
  2. Problem/Solution – What did you struggle with? How did you solve it?
  3. Tips or Recommendations – List out practical suggestions
  4. Closing – Encourage readers to try it or ask questions

Post Image

What it’s for: This is your article’s thumbnail or featured image.
Tips:
  • Choose a high-quality, relevant image.
  • Avoid blurry or cluttered photos.
  • Ideally, use an image that reflects the product or story you’re telling.
TipidTip: Use free sources like Unsplash, Pexels, or your own photos.

Tags

What it’s for: Tags help group related content and improve searchability.
Important: We use kebab-case, separated by commas.
Examples:
  • ✅ online-shopping, cashback-apps, budget-meals
  • ❌ Online Shopping, Cashback Apps (wrong)
Tips:
  • Be specific but not overly long.
  • Reuse existing tags when possible for consistency.

Category

What it’s for: Categories help organize posts by topic, making it easier for readers to browse content based on their interests.
Choose the one that best fits your post. If your post overlaps multiple topics, go with the most relevant or specific one.
